Abstract

Background. The analysis of processes, taking place in the modern Russian society, allows to assert that modern times have aggrevated the problems of solidarity, humanity, humaneness, justice to the peak. In this connection, the importance of studying social trust lies in the fact that at the modern stage it appears to be the base of solidarity, functionality and consolidation of society. The aim of the article is to research the level of social trust of elderly people as a part of the social space of the modern Russian society.
Materials and methods. The research tasks were realized on the basis of the results of a sociological research, carried out in 2015 in the framework of a RHSF research project “Consolidation of various social groups in polyethnic rprovinces of the Volga region on the basis of intercultural norm and uniform value priorities in modern Russian conditions”, project № 15-03-00382а. The main research methods were surveying, focus-groups.
Results. The research of social trust of elderly people in the modern Russian society has revealed the fact that social trust of the said social group is based on knowledge of a social partner, mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation, based on common goals, values and interests.
Conclusions. The analysis of social trust of elderly people allows to conclude that elderly trust closest people and acquaintances.
